Out of an abundance of caution arising from the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, and after extensive consultations with the County Government of Mombasa; as disheartening as it may be, we wish to inform you that we have made the decision to postpone Africa Motorfest indefinitely.
We understand that this will come as a major disappointment to everyone who was looking forward to the event, but our priority still remains to safeguard the health and well-being of our partners, exhibitors, staff, volunteers, suppliers and the general public by acting in line with recommendations from authorities to reduce all non-essential social contact, including large gatherings. As it stands, the government has already ordered the indefinite closure of public beaches and recreation areas in Mombasa, including Mama Ngina Waterfront Park.
Our dedicated team of staff and partners has put in a lot of work into bringing this show to life and this eventuality is far from what we imagined. Our event planning committee remains in communication with public health authorities from the Ministry of Health and Mombasa County’s Department of Health and Public Safety, and we will continue to abide by their advice before announcing new dates within the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, we encourage you to visit www.africamotorfest.com for any updates and new developments as well as for information on how to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Your safety is absolutely paramount and we advise you to strictly adhere to public health guidelines provided by the authorities.
We are very grateful to our loyal partners and clients for their support throughout this period, and for their understanding as we face this crisis together.
